About Elisabeth
Hi! I'm Elisabeth. I’m a self-taught artist, professional pet portraitist, and art instructor creating soulful, expressive artwork rooted in connection and healing.
I specialize in custom pet portraits that honor the unique bond between people and their animals, as well as art classes and workshops that support creative confidence, emotional expression, and personal growth.
Through painting and guided creative experiences, I help individuals slow down, reconnect with what matters, and experience the healing power of art—no matter their background or skill level.
Reconnecting with My Passion
In 2014, I reconnected with my childhood passions, and I began teaching myself to draw and paint in watercolors, and began writing short stories just for fun again. A couple of years later, I began painting in oils and experimenting with mixed media.
After over two decades in the corporate world, I decided to follow my heart and fully embrace my creative journey, with the support of my husband, Lowell, and my sister, Lisha. Despite their unwavering support, this was a hard decision that led me to navigate the rough seas of self-doubt and fear. I've had to unlearn years of limiting beliefs about myself and the world. My personal experiences with self-growth, emotional healing, and spirituality are often reflected in everything I create and in all my classes.
Inviting You to the Joy of Art
When I began teaching art classes in 2024, I started noticing a pattern during our introductions. Many students would say things like, “I was nervous to try,” “I could never paint like you,” or the classic, “I’m just not artistic.”
One of the most heartbreaking moments came from a sweet woman who shared that, as a child, her teacher told her mother not to waste money on art classes, because she had "no talent."
That hit me hard because I used to believe the same thing about myself.
For years, I thought creativity belonged only to the “naturally talented.” But I’ve since learned, and now love teaching, that art isn’t some magical gift reserved for a chosen few. Drawing and painting are skills, and like any skill, they can be learned and developed.
So I made it my mission to challenge the myth of talent and open the doors of creativity wide. Through step-by-step lessons focused on foundational techniques, I help people reclaim their creative spark and rediscover the joy of making art.
